Creating mandalas feels as natural as breathing. But strangely, sharing them online feels much harder. I suspect this has something to do with the instinctual self-protection embedded in human nature.
These mandalas reveal the parts of consciousness we’re often taught to hide—conflict, struggle, vulnerability, and unease—the shadow side of the self. And it is our natural impulse to keep that shadow hidden.
Revealing the shadow is not what ordinary human behavior allows for—but perhaps that’s exactly what art is meant to do. After all, what do you believe art is for, if not to commit the so-called absurdities that no “normal” person would attempt in normal life?
